Plextor 760 and 716
getting ready to order. I know one is an IDE and the other is a Serial ATA. Will either of these work well installed in a shuttle?

make sure you order the right hard drive. some motherboards with sata dont support IDE drives. you would have to get more hardware to run the IDE drive on a sata board.

Bryant both Plextor 760 and 716 are IDE. 716 does have a SATA version, but they also have an IDE. Don't know if the SATA version is compatible with MTU programs as I have never tried one.

I see. This motherboard says RAID support.
The plextor says IDE drive. The 760 says serial ata drive.

Will they both work?

Oh no, The 716sa says "Serial ATA" and the 760 says "IDE".

You're saying better not use the "ATA" one?

Please let me know?

There are two models of the Plextor 716.

The 716AL is an IDE drive and the 716SA is the ATA (SATA)

The 760A is strictly IDE
