Supported Burner List Question

Posted this in the CD-Recorders forum, but it barely even got looked at so I thought I'd try here....

Looking over the list of supported burners for Hoster I noticed some of the drives have a * next to them. What does this * mean?

For example:
MATSHITA UJDA74*

I am still searching for a UltraSlim drive that will work in my IBM Thinkpad T43P. I have found an IBM drive ultraslim drive which is a Matshita UJDA745. Will this work? According to Nero's InfoTool, it does RAW DAO 96.

I guess what I'm asking is does anyone know of a 9.5mm drive that will work with Hoster?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

I believe the drives with the "*" are drives that are supposed to work according to the company that produced the MMC interface for MTU. The "*" indicates drives that have not been tested or had inconclusive tests directly by MTU or their Beta testers.

MTU does have a laptop drive for sale in their equipment list. You can't go wrong there because they know it will work. Look here:

Unfortunatly, I think that drive is a 12.7mm (height), which won't fit in the Thinkpad, which uses a 9.5mm drive. I quess I was hoping the * was a wildcard... and hoping that the MATSHITA UJDA745 would work, guess I have to keep searching...

Thanks anyway for the help.

Mike

It may work, but hasn't been tested.
