Running shows from discs
I own a portable PC purchased from MTU. I have never used it for a shows.
The CD-DVD rom is a Plextor PX-712A. I have Hoster 3.300 on this portable. Is this unit capable of playing a disc which has not been imported into the hard drive. Say a singer wishes to sing off their own disc. I have a second computer which is not portable and I use it to back up My discs. It also has Hoster 3.300 installed. I have Microstudio installed on this unit and use the play tab to play discs. Do I need Microstudio on the portable to be able to play from a disc. Is the PX-712A capable of playing from a disc. By the way, I didn't see a section for help with a portable PC so I posted under Hoster help. |

With Hoster you can import the track they wish to sing and when they finish Hoster will delete the track from your computer.
To import the track, insert the CD, then in "Add Track" area at top of Hoster screen, click on the "CDG" button, add the track #, song title and singer's name, then click add track. Hoster will then import the track and add the listing in the playlist. You can even do this while someone else is singing. ![]()

Assuming when you say portable you do not mean laptop then the answer would be: If MTU sold it to you it will work. Microstudio not necessary (although quite handy to have at times when not doing a show).
Basicly if a drive will work importing your disks into your database then it will also work with singers disks into the playlist. Sam
