Some Songs Missing When Batch Impoted

When I do a batch bin import from my hard drive, It says that all songs have been imported, but I find that certain songs are not in data base. I do a search for the song, and look in the songbook, and some of the songs did not import. If I go back and single import songs, it shows up in the data base and songbook. Why are only certain songs batch impoting, and others not?

Thx

Importing files on the hard drive using the Batch command is complex. Please carefully read in the manual how Batch and Single modes work. Batch keys off the Define Field Order settings and files that match it. If any files exist with different filename field orders (Title - Artist for example, instead of Artist - Title), they will not be imported in Batch mode. Single mode is safer to use.

If you find some files not imported, they also may have experienced an error while importing, which will not import them. We try to only good KMA files into the Songs Database so you don't have to worrry about their quality.

To help further, we would need more facts. For example, in the Import Hard Drive Files screen, what is the Define File Order settings and what is an example filename you use, and do you have more than one filename field order. If so, that is probably the cause of some files not importing.

Again, try to understand the Batch and Single modes by studying the manual. It may not be perfect in describing them, but it is the best we have on their subjects.

These files imported fine,
sc7563-05_-_Loverboy_-_Turn Me Loose .bin
sc8169-13_-_Zappa, Frank_-_Dinah Moe Humm.bin

These files did not import,
sc8915-13_-_Lifehouse_-_You And Me.bin
sc8848-03_-_Osbourne, Ozzy_-_No More Tears.bin

It's also strange that the songs are not in the songbook, but once you re-import the song they show up in the sonbook, but the number of entries remaines the same. If you add the songs and they show up in songbook, why wouldn't the number of entries increase?

I will keep reading and studying the manual, but please let know if you have any other ideas.

Thx,
Nice guy
