Chartbuster Importing Zip Files

I SEE IN VERSION 3.110 THAT IMPORTING CHARTBUSTER ZIP FILES IS SUPPOSE TO BE EASIER BUY I STILL CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO IMPORT THE ESSENTIAL 450 PACK. THE FILES ARE LABELED SUCH AS:

Cbe11-01 - Shelton, Ricky Van - Statue Of A Fool

THE IMPORT SCREEN SAY SELECT "THIS" TO HAVE THIS DEFINED FIELD APPEND TO THE PRIOR SELECTED FIELD. CHARTBUSTER USES CB5018 WITH -01 TO -30 FOR THE ENTIRE DISCID, BEFORE THE -01, -02 TRACK NUMBERS.

CAN SOMEONE PUT THAT IN PLAIN ENGLISH AND GIVE ME AN EXACT EXAMPLE USING THE SONG I HAVE LISTED ABOVE (STATUTE OF A FOOL).

I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THEM TO IMPORT BUT NOT PROPERLY. THE LAST TIME I TRIED IT THE BRAND AND DISC ID WERE CORRECT BUT IT ASSIGNED A SEPERATE BOOK ID TO EVERY SONG.

ADMIN: There are multiple exact examples in the manual for the Import Hard Drive Files screen. When in doubt, try the manual first.

ADMIN: The Define Field Order settings with the separators for this (assuming Cbe11 is the DiscID number and -01 is the Track#) is: "Brand-DiscID - Artist - Title."

THE IMPORT SCREEN SAY SELECT "THIS" TO HAVE THIS DEFINED FIELD APPEND TO THE PRIOR SELECTED FIELD. CHARTBUSTER USES CB5018 WITH -01 TO -30 FOR THE ENTIRE DISCID, BEFORE THE -01, -02 TRACK NUMBERS.

ADMIN: First, it is "&This", not "This". Please read the manual. The "&This" selection is appended to the prior field selection. Thus, for CB5018-30-02, you would enter "DiscID-&This-Track#" followed by whatever Title and Artist settings are present.

This specific problem is addressed in the manual. Please post back here what your results are. It SHOULD work correctly, with a BookID assigned per "DiscID-&This" added to the DiscID.

For the CB Essential450 you should be using:

Cbe1-11-01 - Shelton, Ricky Van - Statue Of A Fool.zip,
Which means:
Cbe1 = Chartbusters Essential 450 Pack ONE
11 = Disc Number ELEVEN of the CBE Pack ONE

NOT

Cbe11-01 - Shelton, Ricky Van - Statue Of A Fool

BECAUSE

Hoster needs to know the difference between Essential 450 Packs 1 through 5.

CBE1 means CB Essential Pack ONE
CBE2 means CB Essential Pack TWO, etc.

The way you have it, it appears that there is an Essential Pack ELEVEN.

Rename your 450 Zips Prefix to: CBE1-

Then, you will be able to use, in PLAIN English, these parameters when Importing:

Field 1 = DiscID
Field 2 = - (Dash with no Spaces before or after)
Field 3 = &This
Field 4 = - (Dash with no Spaces before or after)
Field 5 = Track
Field 6 = - (SpaceDashSpace)
Field 7 = Artist
Field 8 = - (SpaceDashSpace)
Field 9 = Title
Field10= . (Period)

FYI:
The &This means that there is more to the DiscID than just CBE1.

Remember, the DiscID is EVERYTHING up until, but not including, the DASH that separates the TRACK NUMBER.

It just so happens that, with the Chartbusters Essential 450 Packs and the Essential Plus Packs, a Compound DiscID is used, which is, a BRAND, CBE1, and a Disc Number, in your case 11, separated by a DASH.

So, because there is a DASH that separates the BRAND from the ACTUAL DISC Number, you must use the &This to force Hoster to ADD whatever is after the FIRST DASH to Whatever is BEFORE the FIRST DASH in order to get a COMPLETE DiscID that is meaningful to Hoster.

Basically, when using the &This on your example of CBE1 Disc 11, Hoster sees the DiscID as:
CBE1+11 sort of appending the 11 to the Prefix CBE1.

I hope that this helps to explain what is wrong, why your file prefixes need to be renamed, how to set the correct parameters for a successful Import, and some theory on what is happening behind the scenes.

Chartbuster Importing Zip Files

admin using your example of "Brand-DiscID - Artist - Title."

This does not work, the seperator that ends field 4 were not found.

Also on the Import screen itself NOT in the manual it DOES say "This" not &"This". Look under 4, second paragraph.

Using DiscID, Tack, Artist, Title I WAS able to import a Chartbuster Essential 450, Disc 5. The Brand came up correctly and the DiscId came up as CBE05.

When I did Disc 6, they imported correctly but the brand came up unknown.
I deleted 6 and did it again this time I manually selected the Brand and re-inported. This time it worked.

So the bottom line for me is using :
DiscID, Tack, Artist, Title and manually selecting the Brand

Importing Chartbuster Zip Files

ADMIN: First, it is "&This", not "This". Please read the manual. The "&This" selection is appended to the prior field selection. Thus, for CB5018-30-02, you would enter "DiscID-&This-Track#" followed by whatever Title and Artist settings are present.

I have read the manual and using the exact example in the manual they still will not import. This is the example given

DiscID-&This-Track - Title - Brand (last box is grayed out)

Using this format you get the message that the seperator ending field 5 is missing. I tried putting . in the last box. You then get the message that the seperator for field 4 is wrong.
I am using discid, dash, &This, dash, track, space dash space, title

I really do not want to rename all my files unless I have to.

Thanks for pointing out we had a "typo" in the screen text. We have changed "This to "&This" to correct this.

You wrote: "I am using discid, dash, &This, dash, track, space dash space, title"

There should be a "." in the separator field following the Title field. The validation checking we do is quite extensive. If your selected filename does not exactly match the "Define Field Order" settings you will see an error message for the exact field that does not match your SELECTED filename contents.

I don't know what else I can say.... but I hope you are now running.
