External Hard Drive Brand

What brand of external hard drive are all of you KJ's using for your shows with Hoster? Do you have any problems with them overheating when you run them for 4-5 hours to access your songs in Hoster? I read somewhere that Maxtor hard drives run hot. I was advised to find an external hard drive with a fan or some sort of cooling system to avoid problems. Finding those kind of external hard drives seems to be difficult to find in the normal brands. I wondered what everyone else was using and if anyone was having any problems. I have two Seagates that are less than 6 months old and am already having a problem with one. It is not from overheating, but I'm looking at buying something different to use for my shows with Hoster. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: External Hard Drive Brand

MTU offers 120GB and 200GB USB external mounted drives for use with Hoster. They work fine for long shows.

You can see them at this thread under the Hoster Laptop PC Dual-Display Computer heading.

Re: External Hard Drive Brand

What brand are the MTU external drives and do they have fans for cooling? Is there more information and/or a picture of them anywhere on this site? I do like to compare products before purchasing, even though I'm sure MTU drives have been thoroughly tested. Yes, I'm using a laptop, otherwise I doubt I'd go the external drive route.

I'm using a Western Digital 160 GB USB External -- No Overheating -- (doesn't have a cooling fan) -- Sets vertical and has cooling slots.
