How to use same songbook on 2 different computers
Im stalling video hoster on a new computer as a backup. I would like to know how to use same songbook on the 2 pc's. Both computers has internal hard drives. I would like to use the same songbook with both hard drives without having to set new numbers on the same songs.
Any help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks a lot. |

Re: How to use same songbook on 2 different computers
If your version of Hoster is 5.20 or above you can just install Hoster on your second computer, copy all your music folders to the new hard drive making them follow the same paths as other computer.
Then from your original Hoster go to the Help menu and select Backup/restore. Follow the instructions in the backup procedure and save the file to a portable device like a usb stick. then plug that into your new computer and from the backup/ restore of that computer choose restore and you should have a clone of your first computer. This is providing one computer isn't XP. If your version of Hoster is earlier than 5.20 then come back and I'll try explaining that. Or if one install is XP.

Re: How to use same songbook on 2 different computers
In that case you need to copy the Hoster data folder and paste it over the one on your new install.
The folder is often in a hidden folder, you can find it from Hosters Tools/Hoster Data Folder. This will show the contents of that folder so go up one in the file path to mtu.com and you should see a folder named Hoster, copy that folder to a usb stick or some other portable device. Now find the same Hoster folder on the other computer once you are showing the Hoster folder close Hoster but keep the folder open, now rename that Hoster folder to something like Hosterbkp just as a backup, if all goes correct you can delete the folder after. Now paste the copy from your other computer into the mtu.com folder. Now start Hoster and it should start up with all the original data and be a clone of your other computer. This won't copy your instabuttons, you will have to re enter those manually. The actual paths for the data folder is: C:\ProgramData\mtu.com\Hoster Unless you have XP then it is probably C/MTU/Hoster. If all is well you can then delete the folder you re named.
