Mp4 Video Issues
Upgraded to newest version in new computer. So far everything working fine except: We have purchased MP4 Karaoke videos that worked in prev version. Now with upgrade/transfer/issue 1) When performing (main hoster page) click Video -go to folder where MP4 are in, add to set list, a 3 min song is showing 17min for this song. We have excess of dead air.
as a second piece to this puzzle when I tried to import them into hoster as I have done before it will import but they still have extended times......Please Help! |

Re: Mp4 Video Issues
You have to have the codec's installed for the videos to work correctly. For some reason Microsoft stopped sharing it's own codecs with other software that is why sometimes things will play in media player but not in Hoster. There are various things written on line about this, I can't remember if this started with Vista or Windows 7.
I have the codec pack installed on my windows 7 and I can play any type of video through Hoster. It is part of the recommended changes mentioned here: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/windows8-changes.htm Most software that plays videos will state that you need the right codec installed for them to play correctly. I don't have Windows 8 so can't advise on specifics points with it. If you want to be extra safe, create a restore point before installing the codec, then if you have any problems you can easily return to your present state.
