File "back-up" performed shortly before this problem occurred, KMA songs played just after back-up was complete. Any and all help greatly appreciated! Gwen Butler Error Message = “The ‘1’ track file is missing. The file may be renamed. Or on a USB hard drive that is currently not plugged in.” |

Hey Gwen,
It sounds like Hoster can't find your KMA files. Have you tried rebuilding your database? (Tools > Songs Database > Rebuild) I hope this helps. Jim ![]()

![]() Thanks a Ton! This appears to have done the trick, however, I received the following error messages during the rebuild process.
![]() With regard to message 2A, I searched my entire computer and did not find a file containing the value of “jeterr” in its file name. ![]() Message 1 = “Field “Songs.MfgName’ cannot be zero-length string (3315).” Message 2 = “Cannot find jeterr40.chm file. Do you want to try to find this file yourself?” ![]() Message 2A = Cannot find jeterr40.chm Help file. Check to see if the file exists on your disk. If it doesn’t you need to reinstall it. ![]() |

The question is how many times did you get the error message about the Field? If it is only once then you have one song file that has a corrupted header and will need to be re-imported. The problem is trying to identify exactly which file it is. If it is more than one it just complicates it more. The only way I know of to find the file is to note the number(s) that the rebuild stops at and shows the message. This would be the record number in the Songs.MDB (database file). You would have to open Songs.mdb in Access or an Access viewer and locate where that record number goes and determine by the listings around it which Brand DiskID and Track number was missing.

Thanks DDouglass!
Only one file was affected by this error. I will attempt to locate it using your advice.

Glad to help Gwen,
If you need a program to look through your songs.mdb you can use the free one that is attached to this post: http://forum.mtu.com/showpost.php?p=80464&postcount=39 (Just click on the link above then click on the attachment.) Jim ![]()

It is the Record number from the database, not the error number. However it is not the BookID as he was saying. I should have looked back at his first post and caught this.
So that means he has not determine which files are causing the problem. Which means he needs to figure out how to use the program Jim had him download to figure out where that record number fits to determine the BookID.

I've figured out how to use the recommended "mdbview.exe" software which allows the user to open the songs.mdb.file displaying the following columns of information. Once displayed, all columns/rows of information were exported to a MS Spreadsheet. The only column of the MS Spreadsheet found to contain a value of "3315" was included in the column with the heading labeled "BOOKID". Data included in the "RECORDID" column is numbered sequentially from 1 to 2687. (I currently have 2687 songs in my database.).

Gwen, for instructions how to re-import a bad file (once you find which is the bad file), the manual has step-by-step instructions under the "Import CD Tracks Screen" Topic.
