Hoster 4.01 - Getting Files into SongDatabase

Still in the "figuring out the software mode" so as to replace old hosting software, so need a little help getting started.
1) Can I upload all my CDG+mp3 external hardrive files (have over 90K individual songs) up into the song database (where I assume they're converted to KMA files?), then save them back into the same external harddrive, where I plan to pull them from when hosting?
2) Haven't figured out how to apply my own indexing of the uploaded songs for quick reference in the songbook. Uploaded a small batch of files, got them into the songbook, but saw no way to edit the renumbering.
3) Do I have to convert my .zip files into CDG+mp3 files prior to uploading them to the songdatabase?
Any help is appreciated...software looks really great...hope I can learn it!!
Dave

1.) Yes. Hoster will save the KMA files to whatever location you assign in the import window.
2.) Hoster creates BookID numbers (which are your reference numbers), however you can assign what BookID you want to use for each discID. Once imported you cannot edit the BookID or DiskID as those numbers are the primary indexing fields for the database. Your songbook can be set up to use either the BookID or the DiscID as the reference number.
3.) No. Hoster can import zip files as well.

Dale is correct on all points.

When we release Hoster 4.02 (this Wednesday Lord willing).

When you run it, it will ask approval to convert any KMA HDZIP Type files to KMA HDMP3G Type. It will take time to process 90,000. HDZIPs take about 1 second per file to convert to HDMP3G. That's why we give you the option to do do it now or later. The Cancel button works while converting "all" of them, and any already done remain done. Until all are converted, you'll see the nag box every time Hoster runs.

The "Import Hard Drive Files" Screen has also been converted to now import ZIP files as HDMP3G Type files. In retrospect, we should have done this from the get-go.

We will soon add crossfading from song to song, and the unzip time becomes a real bottleneck. We're choosing to fix everyone's system before Crossfade arrives so you'll be ready to enjoy it without effort.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like the programming gods are really getting this software to stand up and take a bow. Can't wait to see the enhancements!! Carry on gentlemen!

Once these songs are converted to HDMP3G, will they still be recognized/found if these songs are already on a previous Playlist? Or will they show as Not Found and have to be added again to a Playlist?

When you open a previously saved playlist then the file types for the HDZIP will change to HDMP3 so the playlist will work fine. This has been tested and does work.
