Converting from another software manuf to you?
I am currently running a competitors software (SaxNDot)....however, getting REALLY tired of a lack of releases/bad GUI...lack of options...etc etc etc. I would really be interested in this software, but it appears to not want to open my ZIP files? I am running over 45,000 titles...so conversion would be ....a headache to say the least. Anyone know if there will be a patch/plugin for this?

Re: Converting from another software manuf to you?
It appears 3.1 is what you are looking for http://mtu.com/support/news.htm
3.006 should work for your zip files. I haven't seen any problems with them since that release. Sam |

Re: Converting from another software manuf to you?
OK...well...I downloaded the trial version (3.006)...and no luck there. Hmmph. Well, maybe I'll wait a little longer. I've noticed some other company's software reads my stuff ok...so a little baffled as to why the MTU hoster won't :(

Re: Converting from another software manuf to you?
Is it because your files have been zipped using MP3+G Toolz rather than Winzip ? Just curious.

Re: Converting from another software manuf to you?
Get Winrar 3.42
This program has, in the TOOLS Menu, a CONVERT ARCHIVES option. Upon opening the CONVERT ARCHIVES Window, select the COMPRESSION Button. This will open a SET DEFAULT COMPRESSION OPTION Window. Under the GENERAL Tab, you will see ARCHIVE FORMAT with two choices that are RAR and ZIP. Click the Radio button for ZIP (you don't want to convert all your ZIPs to RARs). Click OK and this will take you back to the CONVERT ARCHIVES Window. Now, you can select a DRIVE or a FOLDER or an individual File to convert. With the above settings, you will not alter the functionality of your ZIPs. But, now, they will all Play in Hoster. I think it took about 6 hours to Convert all my ZIPs. But try a few and see how you like it. Occasionally, during the conversion process, Winrar will FLAG a few ZIPs that it cannot Convert. In this case, unzip the FLAGGED ZIPs and use WINRAR to ZIP them. Again, be sure to select the ZIP format and not RAR when adding files for archiving. Also, it is best to use a separate Folder for these FLAGGED ZIPs and use WINRAR on them one PAIR at a time. This means that you can still use Mp3toolz 3.0...I hate 4.0...to compress and rename the files within and then, just add an extra step of using Winrar to Convert. |

momentarylapseo, in Hoster 3.110 we added a lot of new error checking for ZIP files. Most users are reporting their ZIP files importing without problems.
To our knowledge, only files zipped with Toolz's "Max Compression" (I believe that is the right Toolz name) will fail. We use the industry standard UNZIP program used by Toolz also. However, Toolz added a "slightly better" compression (Max) in their ZIP operation that there is no unzip program for at this time... at least that our research has discovered. Try the Hoster 3.110 demo and see if your ZIPs will work. |
