I use a stock Dell CD/DVD writer and when I unistalled once I selected the box that clears the registry and installed 4.07 which said my drive was bad and would not recognize it.

I unistalled 4.07 and installed 4.06 then I the first copy of Hoster I opened was 3.40. Once the version of 3.40 that comes with 4.06 identifies the drive I could use the drive in 3.40 and in 4.06. after this I upgraded to 4.07 without selecting the clear registry box and the drive appears.

I hope this helps.

Jim

I tested this and it is working fine on my Dell Laptop also. Can you make sure that you have your drive set under the Tools menu\CD Dvd Default drives?

Hey Chuck,
You're welcome. There are known issues with 4.07 crashing under certain conditions so don't freak if you see this, you may not. If you do see it just go back to using 4.06. MTU is releasing 4.08 in the very near future to fix this and a couple of other small bugs that slipped through the cracks during the release of 4.07. The first 4.08 beta should be out today for testing. We'll have 4.07 behind us in no time.

Because of Vista and other issues MTU went back to 4.06 and dumped alot of code that was jepordizing the stability of Hoster. 4.07 beta 15, the last one before 4.07's release ran my 7 hour playlist many times with no crashes. I believe that 4.08 will be the stable version of Hoster 4 I've been waiting for. It's been a heck of a ride but I believe that we are there.

Good to see you on the board again!

Jim
