![]() OK, I've have been trying to load a few VCD's I've had since the first buying Hoster but just haven't messed with them before.
I did one like this..... Copied .dat files to Hoster computer in Video directory Renamed them to reflect title and artist etc Clicked Video button in Hoster, added to play list Everything works great I go to the next one.......(U-Best) Followed the same procedure above Except this disc has vocals on it So I did some reading in forums and downloaded Trial version of Isobuster to see if I could rip without the vocal track but I'm having no luck. I noticed that on the first disc, Hoster sets Multiplex setting to Right Channel and on that disc the right channel was the correct one. On the other disc the right channel has the vocals on it. So my question is....... Is there any software out there that will allow selecting which channel you want extracted. I can select this on Imtoo DVD ripping software. I have a few DVD Karaoke discs too. Any help is apprec. Wally

That's probably the same one I have (I know it's Ubest - country songs). I'm afraid I don't know of anything off hand that will reverse the channels. My Soundforge program looks like it should but I've never been able to get it to work with video like it indicates it will (I probably need to buy a plugin or something). To get around this for now I've had to note in the file name that I need to switch channels.
One option would be to use a program such as Tsunami-MPEG to split the file into audio and video, and then use an audio editor to reverse the channels and then use Tsunami-mpeg again to recombine them. A lot of work. Another option would be to connect your player to a TV card on your computer record them with the vocals turned off. A lot of work and a potential loss of audio/video quality. Hopefully at some point these can be set like other karaoke songs to automaticly set Hoster to the correct channel. Sam |

![]() Hey Sam,
Thanks for some options, I did several cdg multiplex in SoundForge that way, before Hoster could handle them. If there is a program to split the audio and video and then rejoin, then that's what I'll probably do. That is if MTU is not working on something to be able to handle this in an upcoming version of Hoster or a separate program. I read somewhere in the forums they are working on a program to handle Laserdiscs with the ability to roll in to songs database. Surely they would include other video also. (VCD & DVD) I'll research Tsunami MPEG and if cost is doable I might give it a try. Anyway Thanks again,

I guess they call it TMPGEnc now . Looks like the slightly limited demo is free at
http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/download.html There really isn't any documentation. |
