Problems With Mitsui ??
HAD A REALLY WIERD ONE YESTERDAY. HAD TO MAKE BACKUPS OF
12 CDG'S. IN THE INTEREST OF TIME DECIDED TO USE BOTH PC'S. BOTH HAVE MTU CERTIFIED PLEXTORS, AND DECIDED TO BURN AT 8X, USING MITSUI MEDIA. WAS BACKING UP DK,POCKET SONGS, AND JUST TRACKS.THINGS WERE GOING FINE UNTIL SUDDENLY JUST ABOUT AT THE BEGINNING OF WRITING TO DISC, HALF WAY THROUGH THE SESSION THINGS STARTED MESSING UP AND DISCS STARTED SPITING OUT INTO THE COASTER BIN WITH 'BAD MEDIA" MESSAGES. WENT THROUGH SIX DUDS.NOW HERE'S THE KICKER...THE SAME THING WAS HAPPENING ON BOTH PC'S!!! SHUT THEM BOTH DOWN, FIRED THEM BACK UP AND CONTINUED TO FINISH THE SESSION WITHOUT ANOTHER HITCH. FIRST IMPRESSION WAS MEDIA CLOG, BUT THE HD IMAGES WENT FINE. THE PROBLEM OCCURED WHEN BURNING THE CD'S.HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING, AND IF SO DID YOU EVER FIND A REASON. THANKS, GEORGE |

I have found that also, and it all is solved by shutting down and re-booting. I have no explaination why this cure the problem.
I sometimes find though after using certain progs that my resources seem strained even though the earlier used progs are closed. |

Were the computers on for a long period of time before you two had ran into this error? Also, what operating system are you running on these computers? Which ASPI drivers were you using, the ones that we install with Microstudio 2.314 or the Adaptec Drivers as described at: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=493
This could help us. I know that Windows 98 SE and ME both like to lock up out of the blue when they have been on for a while. I also know that our installed ASPI driver has a memory leak, that will cause a lock up after about 2 to 3 copies.

Hi Brian. thanks for the quick response.
Am using W98SE. Both computers stay on. Am using the ASPI drivers included with Microstudio 2.314. Problem probably linked to the error message melt down I sent to you through the help desk, as it all started occuring at the same time on both p.c's and somewhere around the 3rd or 4th burn on each p.c.. Cannot access the website you provided. Access denied. This came up recently on another thread in the forums. We out here cannot always gain access to the sites you refer us to. We get messages that tell us we are not authorized.I just copied and pasted the message we get to you via email. Will temporarily switch to the windows ASPI drivers. Thanks again, George Last edited by George; February 26th, 2002 at 10:06 PM. |

George,
This thread above is located in the Microstudio Tech support Forum. Here is the information that I wanted you to use. ASPI Drivers For Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP For application software like Microstudio, CD Creator, CDRWIN, etc. to control a CD-Recorder (IDE or SCSI) on a Windows PC computer, you need an ASPI driver. Since Microsoft's WNASPI32.DLL ASPI drivers that come on the Windows 95,98,ME CDROMs appear to have the same file date (they all show version 1.00), it is risky to use this to distinguish the version. The version that you should have installed is 4.60 (1021). 1) Download this version of ASPI first: http://home.t-online.de/home/3100209...0001/aspi!.exe Once you have downloaded this file, double click on it. Once it has been installed then reboot the computer. 2) Download this latest version 4.60 (1021) of the ASPI drivers: ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi32.exe Double click on this file to install it. Click the "Upgrade" button once it appears. This will start the installation process. It then will ask you to Click the "Reboot" button to restart the computer. 3)Once the above 2 steps are done, then try to run the following file and it should show all 4 files with the Version number 4.60 (1021). ftp://ftp.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspichk.exe If it shows the above version number then try running Microstudio again, and it should work correctly. NOTE: If you have Microstudio 2.314 then you will have to make the following change in Microstudio also, for this to work. Once you have downloaded and installed the above files do the following: 1) Open Microstudio 2) Go to the Drives Menu 3) Select ASPI Drivers... 4) Change this selection from "Use the MTU installed driver" to "Use the default driver" 5) Close Microstudio and reopen it for this to take affect.

We recently discovered that the ASPI drivers that are installed with Microstudio 2.314 will lock the computer up after 2 to 3 copies without rebooting the computer. Please use the above listed ASPI drivers provided by Adaptec. This will fix any problems with our installed driver. We are in touch with the vendor we buy these drivers from to hopefully get a fix soon.
