Are you hooking strait to TV, or going to a rf modulator first.
it is prob your video card settings.

Tracy,
Right click anywhere on a blank spot on your desktop. Select PROPERTIES, SETTINGS, and make sure the COLOR QUALITY selected is HIGHEST(32bit). That may not solve the problem, but it's a place to start |

Broken/bent s-video pin ?
Last time I had a similiar problem it turned out to be a bad svideo cable. I never figured out why it was bad, it just didn't work with that particular computer although it would with others. A new cable fixed it.

the display adapter in the machine is a radeon 7000 from sapphire, and i installed the catalyst from the cd that came with the card. upon examining the catalyst controls, he finally found a setting for the s-video signal, which is set to "standard" by default. there are "less" and "more" settings that go along with the signal, and once he increased the s-video signal strength, the display on the tv screen got color. the visiontek card in his previous computer didn't have this setting, so it was a matter of his going through all of the tabs in the driver software that got him to the solution. incidentally, i read something from one of the mods saying that pre-7500 radeons can't dual-head. the sapphire radeon 7000 has a vga port and an s-video out, and the catalyst definitely supports multiple displays. the only annoyance i ran into was that i had to have low profile because of the micro atx form factor case i used, and there is no low profile bracket available in the same configuration (s-video on the bottom, vga on top). Nothing a dremel tool can't take care of, though. shaun |
