just wondering why you have hoster on your ext. drive and your c drive, when you merge you song data base make sure you have all your kma files selected , do not delete anything, then click on merge song database.(when you merge your song database it will change the book i.d's )

What version of Hoster are you running?

FYI: We recommend Hoster be installed on the default folder proposed when you are installing. If you put it other than on the \Program Files\ folder, I'm not sure what will happen.

You can have your songs anywhere you want but the program itself I would put in the default location. There is no advantage to putting it anywhere else, especially on an external, it's not like you can move it to different computers.

And when he is saying a back-up copy of Hoster he is or should be referring to the install file, not the program folders with the program file in it.

To answer your original problem. It looks like you have a corrupted KMA file that is stopping the database.
As far as Merging, you run the Tools/Merge Database instead of the Rebuild Database. This will cure any duplicate BookIDs if you have any.
