What operating system?
How or where did you get the KMA files? The only way you can create them is to import them from within Hoster or convert them from other formats with Songverter.
To get Hoster to see them you have to build the database (Tools/Build Database). When the Build window opens select the Folder the files are located in and build.

Thank you for your replies.

The KMA's came from a friend that has Hoster.

Since this is the Demo model, I can't use the Build Database feature.

I assume that since it comes with the disclaimer that I can only listen to 90 seconds of 20 songs that they expect me to play music.

Where is the music !?

I'm dissapointed that this company does not provide phone support.

If you put the disk in you can import to the C: demo/hoster/songs folder and it will play from there. I just did this last night.

I just tried that.

It acknowledges the files, starts importing, and then says 'Aborted'.

I don't get it.

Also, this seems to be quite a lengthy process to get songs into the Karaoke player. I imagine spending weeks importing any sizable library.
Is that what I'm facing ?

Yes. I just that. You might try uninstalling and re-installing the demo. Maybe you had a bad download.

Are you using XP or Vista?
Also, you need to go to Microsoft's Windows Update web page and do the Custom Update. Install all the software and critical updates listed.

What type of disc drive? It may be that your drive needs a firmware (not the driver) update or your drive is not compatable with CDG format as not all drives will read it.

Look in Tools\CD/DVD Drives Defaults. The drives listed should tell you Make/Model and Firmware Version. In the KAR Read column it should say "Yes"
