Error when playing some songs

I recently had to reinstall Hoster 3.00 (plan an update soon to newest ver.) all my songs are backed up on an external drive. I reimported the songs to the songs file and rebuilt my data base. Now half my songs just say ERROR when I try to play them. I even tried playing them right from the external drive and get the same error. I get no other messages about having corrupt files at any time.

This sounds like a hard drive problem.
When you rebuild the database, did it rebuild with the correct number of songs?
Run checkdsk on the hard drive those files are on to try to fix those files.

error message

Are you using a previous playlist?? Sounds to me that you may have re-built your database and the playlist path has changed. If you moved songs and are using an old playlist, this will happen.

What kinds of files are they (CDCDG, HDMP3G, etc.). ?

The tone of your post sounded like you reinstalled an older version than what you were using until recently - If this is the case then maybe you are using file types not supported back then. I don't think Hoster supported anything but imports from disk until about 3.1

I ran chkdisk and there are no errors.
I imported all my songs from CDCDG using ver. 3.00 and I am running ver. 3.00
the play lists I did not import so not using old playlists. I setup a new playlist when testing. tried uninstalling and reinstalling program.

I have not changed anything from old install to new install. Besides the new computer, I went from win 2000 to Win XP. But they are both an NT based op system.
