Graphics not always displayed

A really weird thing occurred recently.

I did a song for a friend but when she played in on her machine there were no graphics, only audio. I did it again, with the same results. I took the discs back and played them on my machine and it worked perfectly. I took them to my friend down the road and played them on her machine, and guess what, they worked perfectly, as they do on the machine of my usual local KJ. My friend said that all her other discs work properly, it's just that her machine does not want to know about my songs.

Then my friend, who is a KJ in London, 'phoned me to say that the disc I had produced for her did not display. She returned the disc, and guess what? Yes, they work fine on my machine.

Why should this be, that the graphics will display on some machines and not others - that does not make sense.

Explanations, views, remedies required please, as this is too weird for my brain to take in.

Hi, will take a stab at this, at the risk of eating humble pie.. I experienced a very similar problem. See the thread I posted in this forum "KHP colors using Leader decoder". Learned during the research that not all decoders recognize all cd players. As it turned out the problem wasn't the decoder, but the cd player. The problem disappeared when I replaced the player with a different brand(which I was getting ready to do anyway). During the process I found my old player only had the problem on the first song of a new cd. My new player, however when I go to a new cd, will, for an instant show a random word or two on the screen, but then proceeds to function properly. Came to the conclusion that my new Sony doesn't have a buffer in the video output, and what I'm seeing is the search for a title, which some cd's have embedded. My old JVC however did have this buffer, and it's the buffer that was causing big time problems. Wrong or right, that's what I concluded. Where this is all leading to is to suggest that there's probably nothing wrong with your cd's but the problem is in the programming of the other players, or the decoders, and that's beyond your control.

Take Care,

George

Dear George

Many thanks for taking the trouble to sort me out. Come to think of it, all the machines on which my discs played successfully are new models of JVC.

My KJ friend in London will be changing her machine shortly anyway, but my local friend, a non-professional like myself, will not be changing her machine in the near future.

Any way, thank you once again, dear George.

Best wishes

Lauraine

George! I think you've got it by jove!

I totally forgot that not all Karaoke players interpret the Karaoke CDG codes (called R-W or RW codes) the same. Thus, the colors you select for your player (or in Microstudio or KHProducer), MAY not appear the same color on another player.

Will the lyrics disappear completely?

Lauraine, try making your songs with a different color scheme and see if that helps.

Question What colors are you using?

Lauraine,

When you select the background and border colors, give me the exact Red-Blue-Green values you select for the songs that don't appear. There may be another direction to test.
