Using DVD

Anyone know any good software that will convert a karaoke DVD to somthing
useable in hoster.
All my VCDs work great, and they show up as Dat files.
I tried a dvd ripper, but it wont let me take the vocals out when it plays in hoster,

I use ImTOO DVD Ripper ver2.0.7

I struggled with that problem for a while until I figured out how to access the correct audio track.

I don't have the program in front of me so this is guessing at what I found but I think the audio channels were labelled something like ACX80 which had vocals on both channels, ACX81 was the MPX setting. I think if it was a multilanguage movie these channels would be the different languages.

The program assumes the user has some ripping expertise (not good for me) but the default settings seem to work well - except for that one audio setting.
The demo will run forever but only 5 minutes at a time .
If you think I can provide any useful info just holler

Sam

There are many programs out there. However, You best get the ones you have to pay for. Because you will need to convert the vob files to one of the file types that MS studio recognizes or that hoster recognizes. Most dvd's are encrypted and are very, very, hard to convert. It is important to convert them properly to useable formats.

i'm using imtoo dvd ripper platinum v4.0 and on the audio box, select either one the available setting. different dvd has different settings so you have to try 1 track first before ripping all. sometimes it might be x80 or x81. my profile is videocd format. all is well with me.

Very true. I think all of mine (only about 8 dvd's) were all x81.

Should also check the volume level. On the one hand if it's set to high you'll get distortion at worst, and at best an extremely loud surprise if you forget to pull the slider down after the last song. On the other hand if it's to low you'll struggle with getting an adequate amount of volume from the track come performance time.
