Importing DVD's

I have dozens of DVD Karoake disks, (ie. about 20 Pioneer disks). When I try to import into Hoster 3.3 my DVD set actually shows up as an option to import, but I can't get them to import.

I did find a way to transfer one of the video files from a song to the hard drive, then find the file from hoster than I put on the hard drive, and it will play it. There must be an easier way, or why would import options show up on the import window?

There is no way to Import the DVD's into the Hoster Database.

The discs are listed on the Import screen, because they are in the Database, but the only way to use a DVD disc is to Open the file under the Playlist and play it from your Hard drive.

In the future this should be changed, but I have no idea when it is expected.

Another video alternative

For about $80 you can buy a "video capture" device and record your DVD songs directly to your computer. It takes the output of your karaoke player and records the video just like it would display on the singer's screen, then stores it to your computer as a .mpg file. Those files can then be played through Hoster using the Video button. I've done that with all my Lasers, DVDs and Video CDs.

Video Plays?

Am I correct in thinking that only the sound will play from a video file video and not the video itself?

No - it will look exactly as it does when you play it through a karaoke machine; sound, words, and video in the background.
