I believe you could move the song folder to the external drive and do a rebuild database and that would do the trick. Please Doug correct me if I got that wrong.

danny_g is correct. You can even have MULTIPLE drives, each with songs in multiple directories on them if you want.

The Tools menu, Build Songs Database command allows you to select which drives/folders to include in your Songs Database. Just add them into the list window and they will be included.

I suggest you read the Manual on Build Songs Database for a greater understanding. If it's not clear, post back here and we'll get you a better answer... and add to the manual.

I moved this to the Hoster Help forum where it belongs.

The Songs Database is like an "index"... it doesn't store the actual KMA files, only pointers to them.

Thus, when you build your songs database, the files can be on external drives, even mulitiple drives. No files will be moved to C drive.

When you change the drive where the songs are located, you also change the destination folder to the new location when you rebuild the database.

make sure the drive letter on the external hard drive (where you store your kma's on) does not change each time you start the computer up.

if it does you will have to rebuild the database again.
