Typing all the song names into my hard drive

I am downloading all my Karaoke discs into my computer. When I go to record a song I have to type the song name in, don't I? Music Match accesses the web to get the names of the songs. It will take me forever to type all 721 discs (12,814 songs) into it and then record them all. I hope someone has some help for me. Please!

Sounds like this post should be in Hoster Help, not Microstudio Help.

Ramblin, are you importing CDG discs or Audio discs?

If CDG, you really should have Hoster Lite or Hoster as we do have a database of the CDG Karaoke discs.

If Audio, Microstudio was not designed to do what you are doing... for the number of discs you have. MusicMatch may be a better choice. Microstudio,as are all MTU products, are designed for Karaoke work. MusicMatch is not.

Needs and wants-Labeling, Playing, etc.

I'm not sure why you want to put the songs on the harddrive. If you want to call them up and sing to them using a karaoke player like Microstudio here's something to think about:

Microstudio is really not a good player. It's OK to test things with, but it has limitations, not the least of which is disc internet info (You have already been advised to buy Hoster)

You can use other software that will create condensed songs for harddrive storage, they may even identify the songs for you.

If you want to be able to create a song label or jewel case insert, etc. you can get the song info and download the songs as non-karaoke, create the labels and use the label for karaoke discs that you may create (If Microstudio used disc information service, then there would need to be a label creator that labeled a disc created using cdg or bin files, so logically we would be asking MTU to do two things for us)

Good Luck

Not to mention that 12000 tracks uncompressed in Microstudio will need around 500 gig hard drive space as compared to less than 100 gig with Hoster/HosterLite compression.

Some more information for everyone

I am trying to download them into my computer from Karaoke CD+G's. I am using Microstudio to do it. However, since I got such great advice from everyone, I will purchase Hoster and use it. I am sure it will take care of my next question. Microstudio will not let me download Karaoke songs that have vocals. I suppose Hoster will let me? Thank you all for your imput.

Steve

Yes Steve, Hoster will import and play multiplexed tracks.

I believe you're making a wise decision.
