Changing Reg.code

Hi Admin.
Could you tell me what to do to change my Reg. code as I want to put Hoster Light onto my new Laptop. I need to take it off my old one as I am selling it as soon as I get the Hoster onto my new one.I have to use external floppy drive as both machines don't have floppys built in .Cheers.B.B.

This can now be done. Remove it from the old system and then it will allow you to reinstall.

Changing Hoster

Thanks Bryan, but how do I remove it from my old laptop & then put it onto my new one? As I said previously, I use external floppy drive ,What do I do next? While I'M here does anyone use a Soundblaster Live USB external sound card,& if so how is it wired to go to my mackie mixer.I ain't had chance to use it yet as, like the Hoster I'm totally all at sea,I only use 2 speakers,( Mackie powered ) no bass bins as the gigs I do are only 80-120 seaters, any help much appreciated,Cheers

Just go through your control panel and delete it like you would any other program. You can also delete the main MTU folder from wherever you saved it, probably c:\program files.

Then install it on your new pc just as though you were starting fresh.

hoster light swap

Hi,me again. thanks george & beavis, i've done what you both said but still no joy .I deleted hoster as you advised from my old laptop and put the floppy in my new one(which I'M using now)but I keep getting a message to say that i've got to put the floppy back into my old machine to finish instalation,I don't want it on that one ,I want it on this one. as you probably realise by now Iain't up on all this technology.I'm an ex pro musician and all I ever used computers for was creating music tracks with sequencers along with Cubebase. What do I need to do now.Cheers

You can't use the floppy from the old machine. It is trying to install on a machine that did not create it, and the info does not agree. You must start fresh.

If the new pc is on the internet you don't need to do a floppy install.

If not then you must create the floppy on the new machine and then take the floppy to a pc that is on the internet to get the registration info imbedded on it, just as you did when you first started out, then finish the installation on the new machine.

Wow George,Iwish I could get my head round all this.I am on the net on my new Lappy so do I have to get in touch with MTU to re-install it ,and if so ,what address do I use.I'm pleased you told me I don't need the floppy as I was thinking that opening a vein would solve everything.I'm getting to old to be humping loads of books and discs and players around so I'm really looking foreward to finally getting up and running with just a laptop.I am now using more gear than when I was a muso, once again thanks for your time and advice.I'll persevere now till I get it sorted, Cheers.

The following link takes you to the FAQ explaining how to download a product you have previously purchased.

http://www.mtu.com/support/faq/faq-w...htm#StoreLogin

Once you have the new product on your pc, make sure you are on line, and start the installation process. The install program will automatically contact MTU with your pc data necessary to complete the installation.

Take care,

George

Forums were down and didn't get back in time to add that if you still have your email containing the your personal download link and your registration code, you can simply download and install without going through the store as I described above.

I believe this is still valid until the end of this year at which time those download links can still be used as they will direct you to your account at the store.

That's my understanding.
