Video display problems in 3.300
Happy New Year all!
I have installed 3.300, couldn't wait to see my mpeg videos play in Hoster. My laptop doesn't have access to my KMA database at the moment so I played a couple of mp3+g files and they showed up fine on my TV monitor. However my video files don't double click to full screen, won't drag across my computer monitor and if positioned to the right by a previous mp3+g song, just show on the TV monitor as a brown screen, no picture. Even an avi didn't show. If the picture box is positioned on the computer screen it shows fine, though I can't move it. How do I fix this? |

Move and stretch while a non video is playing. I think it's covered in the manual.

OK thanks. How about the black screen, no video on TV monitor?

![]() Here's a longshot but it can't hurt to look. Check your video card settings and make sure they are set to true color or something similiar and not 16 color. Maybe someone else here will have a suggestion. Sam

Not only are my graphics working perfectly on the monitor, I have made some video clips, information, instructions, ads, some incorporate 2d and 3d fx, all have striking colours. These play perfectly from Core Media Player.

play a karaoke file first, while it is playing click it and drag it back to your monitor, resize it to about 4x4 at bottom right of your monitor, now stop karaoke song and play a video and see what happens. Bob

OK, I've set up 3.300 on my desktop now. If I play a graphics file, manually size it to fullscreen and don't double click it and then play a video file it plays fine! Fills screen after some fiddling. That's good.
Back to my laptop and the video files still show black or with no window at all, depending on where the picture is positioned. Must be a video card setting then? It's an ATI X700. Screen res is 1024x768 on the second monitor, 32 bit color quality. I've tried lower screen res but no different. I'm probably just one 'click' away! The desktop card is an ATI 9600XT. BTW the video doesn't show on my little application screen monitor on the desktop computer either. Is that normal? |
