how to install Hoster on a computer with no internet and no a:
Hello
I bought Hoster Lite 30 seconds ago! I want to use it on my laptop. It's not connected to the internet and it has no floppy. I do have a USB-stick that holds 512 mb of data. It can be connected either to the laptop or to my internet computer. It has the letter I: when connected to the internet computer and G: when connected to my laptop How can I install hoster on my laptop?? The install wizard requires a floppy disc in drive A: which is not possible. I would hate to connect the laptop to the internet since prof. audio applications and internet/virus do not fit together Best regards, Martin Kjeldgaard, Denmark |

Martin,
The only other alternative if you do not wish to connect to the internet would be to purchase a USB floppy drive to complete the installation. Take care, George |

Thank you for your quick answer!
Have MTU ever concidered solving this problem in future releases? No new laptops are sold with a floppy drive built in, and buying a drive ONLY to install one program seems a little bit overkilling. I hope you understand my concern about connecting a prof. audio machine to the internet. I understand, however, that these are the only to solutions at present time. Best regards, Martin One more question: I have registered HOSTER on my internet computer with no problem. Can I register Hoster again if I reformat my computer, or will it cause a problem?? I want HOSTER to be installed on the laptop for running shows and on my internet computer for converting files, as my laptop cannot read CD-G discs. My internet computer REALLY needs reformatting soon, so I hope it's possible. |

Martin,
MTU is aware of the increasing lack of availability of floppy drives. Installing a pc without internet connection requires two burns, which you can't do on cd's. That's the reason floppies were chosen. I don't know what MTU's solution to the problem will be at this point. As far as re-installing after a format, you should have no problem. You might want to consider one day in buying a program like Norton Ghost, adding a USB hard drive, and cloning your main hard drive, as a back-up. Well worth the money. Take Care, George |

We are considering supporting Memory Sticks in a future release. Its not simple to change what we have done, and other new features keep taking up our time.
Keep in mind that Hoster can install on 2 computers, one for your show and one for your backup. However, Hoster LITE installs on one computer. You cannot install it on two. If you reformat the SAME computer, you can reinstall. If you upgrade windows, change a hard drive, or your motherboard, it is no longer the same computer. |

I moved this from the Hoster Player Forum, to the Hoster Help forum that it belongs in. If you are not yet registered, please do so now. Be sure to reply to the email you are sent by the Forum script.
Also, be sure to use your email you registered your product with. That is what we have on record, and we only register MTU product owners in the Customer Support Forums. |

How do I "move" HOSTER LITE from one computer to another. Right now HOSTER LITE is installed on my desktop computer - to convert files and to get to know the program. In a few days need it on my laptop - and no longer on my desktop. Can I uninstall and then install on a different machine??
And what if I buy a new computer in a year or so. Does it mean I need to buy a new license??? This is beginning to sound a bit complicated to me. I hope there is a better way!! regards, Martin |

Martin,
Host Lite will install on ONE computer, that is it. You will have to remove it from your Desktop, and then Email me at support at mtu.com to get this to install again, but it must first be removed to send something to the site stating it was removed before this can be done. Hoster is what you needed to purchase, if you wanted to run it on 2 systems.
