compare to cavs JB-199 system
How does the hoster program compare to the Cavs JB-199 system. Can the hoster record karaoke songs as the singer sings?

Yes it can be done while hoster is running, but hoster itself does not do it. You must use a separate recording utility.

Why would anyone want to? Just curious.

In addition to running karoake, I also produce an Impersonator Show. I needed to record some song samples to put on cd for promotional purposes in order to line up our first few gigs. Since then I have had a videographer come out and put together a dvd. All licenseing has been taken care of so all legalities are taken care of. As for someone recording karaoke singers and selling them a cd, I think we all know just how [il]legal that is!

I have 3 separate sound cards in my PC.
1. m-audio delta 410 multi channel card (main card) 2. audigy sound blaster pro (backup) and can be used for recording. 3. on board sound.. have never used it. I use the delta 410 for all outgoing audio. my dj software uses 2 of the channels, hoster uses one, and the other channel get used by other apps. I can configure music match to record the audio live as a wav or mp3 from the record outs of my mackie board. it works well.
