Hoster requirements
I read the system requirements for Installing both Hoster and Hoter-Lite, but how much room is need just for program itself?
I also read about how to keep the kma files on a different drive than where the program is installed - does this include a removable hard drive that is accessed through a USB port? I'm asking because I have the 2005 HP Media Center with a slot for a removable 160G hard drive that can be accessed by another computer via USB. So if I put all my songs on this removable drive now, using my desk top, when I purchase a laptop to carry to shows, I'm hoping I can access all the songs on the portable drive so I won't have to transfer the files to the new laptop. Please let me know if this is possible? |

Installing Hoster/Hoster Lite
Skybird,
Thank you for your questions. Hoster requires an install size of just under 20MB. As your database grows so does Hoster, but I have never seen its size top 100MB, unless another customer can verify this. As for Hoster Lite, its install size is also right at 20MB and as the full Hoster can grow, Hoster Lite can as well. Transferring files/External Hard drives.....you have this correct. You can import all of your files through Hoster to be saved to an external/removable drive. When you move this drive to a laptop or another computer, you can go under Hoster's Tools menu and use the rebuild Hoster Database option to locate and make available all the songs on your removable hard drive. Let me know if this answers everything. DougC |
