Sound Choice protected discs
hello everyone ....I have been downloading discs for the last three weeks and am near the end....yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa....lol....I have sound choice spotlight series discs that are protected and wont load into the data base for me ...the numbers are 8700,8713,8716,8720,8732,8734. I could swear that I read something on this site about how they did this to these discs illegaly and had to replace them...is this true?....any info on the subject would be greatly appreciated.....

I think these disk's are multisession. Here is a post from Kelly that will walk you through it. You need Micro Studio from MTU.
In using Microstudio, select all songs except #16. You will notice that when writing #15 it seems to stop. I allow a couple of minutes to go by when trying to write #15. I then push the eject button on the cdrom writer. It will eject. It will say Error or something to that nature. Pay no attention to that. I beleieve the terminate button also comes up. Click it. Once you exit from that screen check your files where you songs go to and you will see #15 there. Don't ask me why it works. It just does. Not saying it will work on your equipment; but that how I record my multi session discs. This is how I do mine also. All the new SC and CB disc's are multisession. Other company's are too.

From what you describe and the numbers involved they are probably MediaCloque disks. SoundChoice doesn't have to replace them although they have offered to if they have reprinted that disc (slow sellers may not get reprinted) and you send them $6 per disk S&H.
You have to call SC, give them the numbers and they will tell you if it can be replaced or not. Can be a frustrating situation. Sam Last edited by mindonstrike; June 16th, 2005 at 05:48 AM. Reason: forgot some info |
