Question Problem importing ChartBuster EP485

I'm using version 3.108 and everything has been working great. I just bought the ChartBuster Essential Plus Pack 485. As I was attempting to import the songs into Hoster I found that on each disc the import hangs about 3/4 of the way through the import of the last track. These are multi-session CD's so I attempted to import the last track using MicroStudio and it hangs in the same fashion. I swapped out my CD drive to be sure it wasn't bad but the problem persisted. I tried the CD's in a reglar Karaoke player and the last track works fine. I'm at a bit of a loss and I was hoping someone might be able to help.

Thanks,

Upnext

Yes it will hang in Microstudio as well. What you need to do is hit the eject button when it hangs, Microstudio will show "Abort" (or error - can't remember off the top off my head). You should find it with the other songs in your folder. If you have Hoster 3.108 you can then import it from your .cdg file without making a new disk.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the offer. I'm going to try what MindonStrike suggested and if that doesn't work I'll come down and make the copies.
So what does your copier do, does it create a single session copy of a multisession disc?

Graphics distorted after last track import

I tried bringing in the last track on these multi-session discs like MindonStrike suggested and it did work the way he described. However when I then import the track into Hoster the graphics are very poor quality with garbage appearing on the screen until it gets to the point where it cannot be read at all. If I play the last track in a regular Karaoke Player it is fine so there is just something funky with the import. I guess I will have to take Mike up on his offer and make a new set of discs. It's kind of a pain for six songs but it seems like the only alternative at this point.

First, try writing these last multi-session CDG tracks back to a CDG disc and then importing them into Hoster. It's the same you would do with Mike's setup.

If that doesn't work, do as Mike suggests, or

Wait for Hoster 3.200 release, which should be before July 15. This will have new code that allows importing all tracks on a multisession disc.

Your timing determines your options.

admin he is only about 1/2 hour from me i dont mind helping him

it will only take about 10 min to do what he has to do.

ps the problem with this disc is the other drives are not see this track
as a standard bdg track formate so the drive does not know what to do with this track

if you were doing a raw read and right that might work!!!

Hi Admin,

I did try copying to a disc and then importing but encountered the same problem. I bought an Ultraplex 40 drive off of Ebay last night so that I'll be able to handle this situation until 3.2 comes out. In the meantime I am going to take Mike up on his offer to copy the discs for me. Thanks to all for your help.

Since you had the same problem with two drives It may be a cd media quality issue.
Good luck.

Smile I got it to work using disc juggler

I did manage to finally figure out a successful means of getting the last track on multi-session CD's imported. I used Disc Juggler to create a disc Image of just the last tracks of each of the discs. Then I burned a new CD with the image I created. I then imported them into Hoster with no problem and everything looks great. The process is a little painful but until 3.2 comes out it is a means of getting around the problem. I've always used Disc Juggler to back up my karaoke CD's and it works great for this as well. For about $40 it is well worth the money.
