can not read cdg+g into program

I have brought your program Hoster 300n, $178.95 and it installed without a problem. It found our DVD burner. I was able to read a regular CD but not a CD+G disk.

Upon trying to import any CD+G, it failed to read any tracks at all. Is there any reason for this? What kind of hardware, if any, is needed to accomplish this task? Does it require your hardware or any generic CD/CD+G/DVD reader, ie: Plextor External or any simular hardware?

Thanking you for your time and experience in this matter.

Re: can not read cdg+g into program

here is a quote from the manual:

Hoster installs its own ASPI drivers on the computer to control the CD-Recorders (IDE, USB or SCSI) under Windows 2000 or XP. If Hoster does not find the CDR drive, try changing which driver is selected by clicking the ASPI Drivers... button to display this dialog box. Click the Use default driver button in this dialog box to see if the standard ASPI driver that comes with your CDR drive may allow Hoster to find and control your CDR drive(s).

Re: can not read cdg+g into program

First guess, by the sounds of the read, is the drive you are using to import the cdg's is not compatible.

A list of compatible drives can be found:
http://www.mtu.com/support/cdr-ide-drives.htm

Plextor drives are pretty much the industry standard when it comes to cdg compatible drives and the safest route to go. There are a few Plextor's that don't support the format, but about 95% of them do.

For the surest bet, get one of MTU's certified drives.

Re: can not read cdg+g into program

The Plextor brand of burners are the only ones that currently will work.
