3.005 Problem. Search Closes Hoster Everytime
I just upgraded to 3.005 from 2.215. 2.215 worked perfectly.
I ran the installer. Deleted Hoster and ran it again. It installed OK. I can play a song OK. However if I try to use "Search" and type in a song, or artist name and then click the song or artist button to search, I get sign that says, "Too few parameters expected 1 (3061) Would you like to see help? If I click on "no", I get "Hoster Application Has Encountered A Problem and Needs to Close" If I click on "yes" I get "Can't find jetear 35.hlpfile. Maybe I was not suppose to delete Hoster this time like I did in prevous upgrades. There was no message to that effect this time. What is wrong and how can I fix it? I am using The ProStar Lap top from MTU and as I said before, it has been very stable using 2.215. I'm very nervous right now. |

Re: 3.005 Problem. Search Closes Hoster Everytime
Dlessnau,
This means that something is wrong with either your Songs.mdb or your BUcket.mdb. To fix this, do the following: 1) Open My Computer. Go to the C:\ drive. It might show Local Disk C:\. Double click on this. 2) Double click on Program Files 3) Double click on Micro Technology Unlimited 4) Double click on Hoster. Double click on Databases 5) You should now see a bucket.mdb file and a songs.mdb file. Delete these 2 files. 6) Now run the Hoster 3.005 installation again. Selecting Upgrade. It should now replace your bucket.mdb file to be on the safe side. 7) Now try opening Hoster. If your songs don't show up, DON'T panic. Click the Tools Menu\Build Songs Database. Now make sure the Source Folder at the top is set to the location of your .kma files. If not then click the Select Folder button and set it to the location of your .kma files. 8) Click the Build Songs Database button at the bottom. It should now build your database, and all yours songs should be back with no errors when trying to use search.

Re: 3.005 Problem. Search Closes Hoster Everytime
Bryan:
I'm back and it is fixed. The build song data base started automatically when I opened the program. Before I upgraded, I did use the edit feature and deleted all the songs from one slot, leaving that slot empty. I did this because the songs I imported turned out not to have any graphics on them, as it was a sampler disc. So I deleted them, opening the slot to import something else. I played songs after I did that, but I don't think I checked search. Think that might have caused the problem, or do you think it was just a computer glitch? I see in other posts people talking about other software for karaoke. I would never consider using another product. Hoster works fine with no crashes in the year and a half I have been using it, and having access to this forum is very, very valuable. What would I have done, if you were not there to tell me what to do? Thanks... |
