Need Help Configuring Secondary Display
I am having trouble setting up my laptop's secondary display. Here is what I have done so far:
1. I own a 1 year old Dell Inspiron 8600 w/ GeForce FX Go5200 graphics card, Windows XP Home. 2. I have gone into the display settings, and attempted to check the box that says "Extend my Windows Desktop Onto This Monitor" Each time I hit "Apply", the check mark is deleted from the check box. I have tried to follow the instructions in the manual, without any luck. Any suggestions? Thanks! Paul |

Re: Need Help Configuring Secondary Display
Try having the second monitor attached to the laptop, and on when you boot up the computer. You should have a display as you are booting up.

Re: Need Help Configuring Secondary Display
Did you download and install the latest drivers for the card?

Re: Need Help Configuring Secondary Display
Yes -
I get a blank blue screen on my monitor, and when I open Hoster, that doesn't change - I just can't get the hoster screen to play on the tv. Paul |

Re: Need Help Configuring Secondary Display
if you can not get the extend my desk top to keep the check mark in the box
this is were your problem lies hoster is not the problem !!! the problem is in your set up in the video card set up you will need to find out what is wrong there before hoster is going to work like it should go to the web site or call the people who made your laptop and have them trouble shout the video problem there once you get that fixed hoster will run as it was made to do we can tell you things all day but the people who made the unit should be able to walk you thur it in a snap and if it is a dell like you said ask them right off the bat if the video card in side your unit will support extend my desk top mode some cards wont |
