![]() Hi All,
I am still stuck. I have cdg's saved to my hard drive, but, can't seem to import them into Hoster demo. I can import regular music into hoster 3.000, but, not cdg's. I am ready to buy the system, but, I'm hesitant until I can fix this problem. Please advise....Thanks

Re: demo version?
Hoster won't import cdg tracks from the hard drive, which is what I gather you're trying to do from the wording of your post. You should have no problem importing from your cdg discs, if your drive is cdg compliant, and you have the discs..

Re: demo version?
I thought that was the whole point of Hoster to be able to store cdg's on the hard drive, instead of loading and working from discs. Clearly, I am misunderstanding something or missing a step.

Re: demo version?
if you have a minute (or a few), can you give me a brief summary as to what happens from the time you put the cdg in to cdrom, then, making it a kma file? why are my cdg's not turning into kma files in order for me to import them into hoster demo? I know I'm a pain in the butt.....please help....

Re: demo version?
Hi Part On,
Hoster is designed to be a stand alone system which means you need to import from the Hoster Program. Previously downloaded cdg's are not eligible for use on the Hoster program at this time. It is to my knowledge that it is intended to be added in the future. I assure you as an avid user of Hoster that it will fit your needs. As bevis was saying it saves you files to harddrive as a .kma file. The way that Hoster has the program set up they are maximizing your harddrive space by compressing the cdg file just enough that it doesn't lower the quality of your sound. Believe me I've been here for a long time with Hoster being developed and I can truly say now that it is worth the money. Heck I bought back when it was $500. Compare: CDG player worth using---maybe a referb $250-$500 Hoster---$You get the picture Good Luck, Tim |

Re: demo version?
Here's the instructions:
Click on the import selection at the top of Hoster. You will see a box. Insert your original CDG into your drive that will read CDG's. Click on "Read CD Tracks". Now choose what cdg it is from the database feature. If chosen correctly this should fill in the CDG titles and artists. Click on the tracks that you want to import and then click on import tracks. This automatically adds this track to Hoster playlist and database. That simple. Just do one song off of your list for now so that you can see what it's doing. If you have any more problems let me know. It's early for me. Tim |

Re: demo version?
no, I'm starting to feel stupid. I think I will just wait until I buy Hoster. I have a Liteon burner, and have successfully burned cdg's, but, when I detect hardware, it tells me that I can use audio only, no karaoke. I just don't get it!

Re: demo version?
Do yourself a favor, download the free Microstudio Demo and see when you click on DETECT DRIVES if it also tells you the burner is not cdg compliant.
If it also says no to Karaoke, you might have to consider purchasing a cdg certified burner through MTU. They are the only providers who will certify the burners they sell to work with cdg. Another thought that comes to mind, and forgive me, for no insult is meant. Just trying to come to a satisfactory conclusion for you. What is the source of the cdg's you're using? You're not using the terminology cdg as an all encompassing term for Karaoke, when in fact the discs may be VCD, ot MP3+g, or something like that, are you. George |

Re: demo version?
No insult taken, I'm glad you're taking the time to help me. They are certainly cdg's, my brother in law is a KJ that is familiar with these. I think you are right though, I need to get the MTU certified burner. I'm getting ready to order the 3.000 version on portable p.c.. I almost have all of the money saved. Thanks again, and any more advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
