Quality Of Audio Using Hoster vs. Using Discs

After reading some posts on this forum, I have picked up on concerns about the quality of the audio when using Hoster compared with using the standard disc system. While it's difficult to compare with out the benefit of an A/B switch and it's very subjective, how does the audio sound on the Hoster system compare to the disc system using the same mixer-amplifier? I'm excited by the Hoster program, but I believe the most important thing to the audience is the SOUND!

Thanks,
Wes

Thumbs up Re: Quality Of Audio Using Hoster vs. Using Discs

I have switched between a player and using Hoster using the same song and I can't tell any difference. Hoster is the only way to go. I would never switch back to using disc's

The sound quality of Hoster is superb! Played through the same mixer and amp, you won't know the difference, and you sure won't miss handling your disc either.

The quality of the music gets much better, and so do the singers after every beer.

Re: Quality Of Audio Using Hoster vs. Using Discs

I have found that the music is superior to a disc player.

I'm not sure what is used on a player to process the sound, but if you have a 18 or 24 bit sound card in you computer it's an amazing difference.

I would never think of going back to discs!

Thanks to all for the responses. Since you use the computer, can the latest version of Hoster select Left Channel only to eliminate and lead vocals and if so, do you have to do it for every selection or can you select it for the entire show?

Thanks,
Wes

I believe that it works for only that song, then defalts to normal settings.

However you can go into hoster and edit specific songs that are multiplex, and select R or L channel and it will play the song that way each time it is played in the future.

Re: Quality Of Audio Using Hoster vs. Using Discs

I have used Hoster for about a year and am completly happy. The sound is as good or better than a disc, but I found the graphics to be better. With a disc, sometimes I would get messed up graphics. This does not happen with Hoster. If I had to go back to discs, I'd quit the business.
