Question UPGRADE with XP SP2 causes error report

I just upgraded to XP Service pack 2 and an additional upgrade and now microstudio will not work (hoster still works fine). I upgraded to version 2.6.09 and that didn't help. The error is as follows:
Microstudio MFC Application
Error Signature:
App Name: microstudio.exe
App Ver: 2.6.09
Mod Name: dsound.dll
Mod Ver: 5.3.2600.2180
Offset: 00022e8
This error happens when I try to play either a saved file or a CDG disk.
Any ideas?

Re: UPGRADE with XP SP2 causes error report

The error conataining the dsound.dll is referring to a part of the Direct Sound, that is used in the programs. This is included in DirectX 9.0. Please make sure that you update your DirectX from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

You can also do this from the Windows Update on the Start Menu.

Re: UPGRADE with XP SP2 causes error report

I am running direct x 9.0c. I ran the direct x diagnostics and everything checks out OK. I removed the Indigo-DJ sound card from my dell laptop and now microstudio works OK. I reinserted the card with the program running and now the Indigo card will work. If I close out Microstudio with the Indigo sound card installed and then open it again, the program freezes and shows this error message. Any ideas why it will not work with this sound card but hoster will?

Re: UPGRADE with XP SP2 causes error report

I wanted to let you know that I downloaded a new driver for the Indigo DJ sound card and that solved the problem. Thanks for directing me to the audio portion of this program from the error report.
