Where does on find mp3+g files to download? I have downloaded many regular mp3 songs, but have never seen any mp3+g songs.

That could be a good way to get a few songs that one needs without having to buy an entire CD.

Dlessnau,
You still must import the Songs from your CD's. The reason that we are supporting this format, is that other peopel have already imported all of there songs in this format, so this way they can Open them and Play them in Hoster. They will now have the search functionalities of Hoster when using these files, but Hoster will now support them.

why do you loose all the search functionality? You can select the CDG from the library can't you. If you can't search, then how do you play the song?

How about the new scdg discs? Can I buy these discs and play them through hoster? It seems like it would be a much easier and cheaper way to buy karaoke songs.

Re: Can Hoster play mp3+g yet?

I never tried popping one of these in my CD drive, but I doubt the computers CD drive will read it, if it can't read it it can't rip it.

Most of the ones I saw, like the Chartbusters Essential SCDG, play on CAVS Super CD+G Compatible Players.

Re: Can Hoster play mp3+g yet?

I have a CAVS unit. I have two disks(2,400 songs) they will play on a computer but there is a program on the disk that allows them to be played on a computer. It is a Karaoke style program. When you put the disk into your computer, you can go to that drive and start the program that plays them! They play ok but there is no video out function so they have to watched from your computer monitor.

Let me rephrase my reply. I meant reading the disc in order to rip it in to be played via hoster.

I have used a CAVS plugin for another CDG player that would allow you to use and play SCDG discs (I think it was one of the NuTech discs but can't remember at the moment), but it was play only, you couldn't rip the songs to hard drive using it for playback.

SteveWalker,
The MP3+G Files will be opened by Hoster, using a Standard Windows Open Dialog Version. Later down the road we will go from there.

Re: Can Hoster play mp3+g yet?

Bryan, that's too bad that you can't use the normal search and library to play any type of media. I just don't understand why you would even consider the implementation that you just explained.
