Major 2.219 problem
I have been using the upgrade 2.219 since October 22nd and it worked fine. However last night when I went to start Hoster and enter a song in the playlist, a box popped up telling me there was a problem with the Hoster Program and it needs to shut down, which it did.
I opened Hoster again and same thing happened. I restarted the computer, same thing happened. I was starting to sweat as I had 100 people in audience waiting for show to start. I then did a System Restore to a few days earlier. Same thing happened. I then did a System Restore a week earlier. Same thing happened. Finally, I did a System Restore to a point before I installed 2.219, which put me back to the previous version of Hoster, and that fixed the problem. What do I do now? Scared to put 2.219 back and have that happen again. I have been using Hoster for over a year and this it the first time I had any problem. Please advise. |

Re: Major 2.219 problem
I will not re-install until I here something from MTU regarding this issue. Something like what happened to me on the job, makes it hard to change from the version that is working, back to one which gave me problems.
Perhaps they might make some update to the file, and then I will download it again and re-install. |

Re: Major 2.219 problem
That can happen if you have the target directory set wrong. Did you change or update your target directory?

Re: Major 2.219 problem
I did nothing since the last time I used the software successfully, except I imported one CDG as I usually do, and I changed no settings.
After I restored to the earlier version, everything worked fine, even the songs that I last imported. I am waiting for advice from MTU before I proceed. Thanks. |

Re: Major 2.219 problem
I am waiting for some sort of advice from MTU on my problem and what to do to fix it. Has any change been made to the lastest download since it came out, so I can try again?
I won't reinstall until I find out if what has caused my problem is fixed. |

Re: Major 2.219 problem
Dave,
There is nothing that I am aware of that would cause Hoster to crash as you have stated. The only thing that I know of that can do this, is that if you have your Selected Folder, on the Import Tracks Tab, set to a CD drive or if it is set to a External USB drive, that no longer is connected to the system. These are the only two things that I know will crash it, and this will only crash when you try to add a song to a Playlist, because the playlist is trying to be created and it can't. There have been no changes or updates to Hoster 2.219, there doesn't seem to be any other clients having problems. You might try running all of the Windows Updates, including updating to SP2, and see what happens then.

Re: Major 2.219 problem
well guys been using the new version since it came out and apart from song book error which I fixed it has been working perfectly and I am using 5 nights a week so some there must be some sort of other software that may be causing your problem

Re: Major 2.219 problem
OK. I am going to update my computer as suggested by getting all the windows updates, and download the Hoster update and try it again. I will also check to see if I have something set wrong in the import tracks area. Shouldn't be though, as I just imported songs to the data base like I usually do, and I never import to anyplace else, but I'll look.
At least I know, if I have a problem at the show, I can always do back to where it is right now. Looks like Mike Dombroski is replying to a different thread on this thread??? Thanks |
