UPGRADE Problem - Solved with correct Registration Code
![]() Initially, I purchased a MTU suite,Order 4827 with Karaoke Home Producer 3.100, Microstudio 2.315, Vogone 2.104, Keyrite 1.202. I found it cumbersome to install and use and when the hoster program came out I decided to purchase the shuttle computer with it all installed. So I purchased the microstudio 2.315 and a shuttle computer from you with the software loaded. I have finally gotten my disks loaded and decided to upgrade before using it in public. I purchased the upgrade for Hoster21UpG—Hoster 20219 software upgrade from 2.014 or prior. I checked the version on the Shuttle Hoster computer before ordering. I attempted to use the disk sent in the mail to upgrade the hoster program on the shuttle computer. While installing the upgrade it asked for a floppy disk to be put in—there is no floppy disk drive on the shuttle computer. I put a blank CD but that did not work either. I canceled out of the installation program and attempted to try to start the hoster program and it will not let me, it gives an error saying “your serial number does not match your registration info” ! It will not start the program! Now my emails are not delivered... and there is no number I can find to call... And I can not even open the hoster program! Please advise ![]() Order#: 18407 Date: 10/22/04 Hoster 2.219 Software upgrade from 2.014 or prior |

Re: UPGRADE Problem
Click here to see our Contact-MTU web page. It has all the info you need to reach us. It is found in the Navigation Box on almost every page in our web site.
![]() You need to connect the computer to the Internet to install Hoster, or any of our programs. The Floppy Disc method of installing can be used if you add a USB floppy disc drive external to your Shuttle computer. Then take the diskette over to another computer that is on-line to complete the registration. By far the easiest is to attach the computer to a dial-up line and connect to the internet. We are sorry there was no room in the Shuttle for a Floppy drive. |

Re: UPGRADE Problem
Illusivity,
You must either Connect this computer to the Internet using either the Network card inside the computer or the Modem to register Hoster. The only other option that you have is to purchase a USB Floppy drive, which you should beable to find at most any computer or retail store for $25 -$45. The program must connect to our website one of these 2 ways or there is no way to reinstall the program.

Re: UPGRADE Problem
I do have internet access on the shuttle computer. (It did not ask for that to download anything)
I was trying to upgrade using the cd sent to me in the mail. I put in the serial number from the original purchase of Hoster software (2002) where it asked for it. I then put in the new serial number from the newly purchased upgrade cd. It asked for a floppy disk drive-- there isn't one. I exited out of the setup. Now I can not access the previous version of the hoster program nor was the upgrade successful... (thus inaccessable) So I now have this cute little shuttle computer-- and a whole lot of time and money invested-- and not even the original program is accessable... I tried again... it is asking for the original registration code... I have tons of codes... tried them all and it does not work... Can you please send me the correct codes to put in? Re: UPGRADE Problem
I don't think it will ever ask for a floppy unless it can't find a way to get on the internet.Sorry I couldn't tell you why it might not be detecting it.

Re: UPGRADE Problem
Make sure that your computer is connected before you start the Hoster Installation. Also make sure that you don't have any Firewall's that are blocking the software from getting out to the Internet. If you have a software firewall installed, you will have to Allow the Hoster Setup to get to the internet.

Re: UPGRADE Problem
I may have had a problem connecting initially, as it is no longer asking for the floppy disk drive. I did have a problem with a router and have disconnected it and am doing a direct connection from the cable modem now. It no longer asks for the floppy disk drive, it just says the registration number do not match or something to that effect.
I have tried and retired all the codes several times to no avail. I tried the ones they gave me and from all the previously purchased software from MTU-- none of those work. I am wondering if they were never registered in the first place as I purchased the computer with the software on them. How can I get codes that work? |

Re: UPGRADE Problem
Did you copy/paste from your email download instructions or typing them in?

Re: UPGRADE Problem
RE: Typos
I typed in the codes because the computer I used to retrieve the email was not the same on that has the Hoster Software. I did wonder if I had made an error on typing the codes in (typing is not a strong point for me!) I did recheck them several times-- and it still didn't work. I created a word doc on the Hoster Computer and tried to cut and paste from it as well... Nothing seems to work. Maybe it is the full moon!? Thanks |
