Hard drive swap

In my system i have a 4 gig hard drive that handles the operating system and applications and the kma data on a 2nd 120gig hard drive. the 4gig is to small I want to copy the 4 gig to the 2nd hd. It will stay in the same computer just a different hard drive. Question? will i need to call support to do this swap

Most likely, you will be having a shop do this, and they can clone the 4 gig hard drive to another. and it shouldnt require authorization, but the hard drive would not work on another computer. Because each computer has its own signature.

But you could still keep the 4 gig in case of a hard drive failure, and do a swap out in an emergency to get you back up and running.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking of building a rack mount with 2 hardrives 1 for the show and the other for a back up.

do yourself a favor, only put a small hard drive on for the "c:" drive for the operating system, and put nothing on it but the operating system and programs,

then put a 250 or more gig hard drive for music. use norton ghost 2003 and make a backup image of the "c" drive to the "c:" drive.

The reason is if you ever crash, and you will one day, the "c" will be the one to crash in all likelyhood. you can reimage, and be up and running in 15 minutes rather than hours.

also I use a usb hard drive to back up the d: drive.

Backup is the best investment you can make.
