Unhappy Microstudio does not detect DVD drive

I've bought and installed the Plextor PX-712A DVD drive from your website. I've dowloaded the latest microstudio demo. However, when I do a detect drives, it only sees my old CD rom and DVD (readonly) drives. The new DVD does not show up. (I am able to access the new drive via explorer, and roxio for disk copies).

I've tried installing the adaptect and nero ASPI drivers, but the results are the same. My Plextor drive is not detected in Microstudio. What an I missing? Do you have any more suggestions?

Re: Microstudio does not detect DVD drive

The only 2 things that can cause this are the ASPI drivers and your Motherboard drivers. What I would do is update your Motherboard, chipset drivers. This should allow it to then work on this computer. To do this, you will need to go to the computer Manufacturer's website, and get the latest drivers.

The only other thing that could cause this, is that if you had the Full version of Hoster and the Demo installed. If you then Uninstalled the demo version of Hoster, it would remove the ASPI driver. If you run the Hoster installation again and select either Modify, Repair, or Upgrade this would be fixed.

What version of Microstudio are you installing and running?

When I viewed your record to find this out, I don't find any purchase for Microstudio. Please give us the Sales Order number you bought Microstudio under, or how you got your copy so we can correct our records.

Question Re: Microstudio does not detect DVD drive

I downloaded the demo version to verify it would work on my system

before I buy the full-blown version. It's expensive, and I didn't want to buy it
before I verified it's functionality.

The demo version is 2.609 which I dowloaded from your site.

Re: Microstudio does not detect DVD drive

If the version is 2.609, then it should work. I am kinda out of it today, being sick. This version did support that 712A drive.

Have you run all of the Windows Updates? If not, then I would do this. Also what version of Windows are you running?
