![]() I have my new laptop with Hoster installed now. I imported one CDG so far to test. The volume coming from the laptop is really low. No way I could use that in my 300 capacity bars. I have looked for info on increasing the volume...nothing seems to be making a difference. When I have my karaoke player hooked up ....the sound is so loud in my house on level 2...but with the laptop...even level 8 is not even close....what should I do?? Is it my sound card?? Is it hoster?? HELP

You need an external amp.

Sorry...I guess I was not clear with that. I have a complete system...Peavey Powered Amp and speakers. I have been using this system for 7 yrs with a karaoke player. Now I am using the Laptop with Hoster in place of the Karaoke Machine....that is all that is different...but the sound is minimal compared to the karaoke player. I have adjusted all volume controls on the laptop and read through the forum for ideas...still low volume. So looking for a wizard to help me out. Thanx

still need help here.....
Okay...I guess i was still not clear. I am not talking about the volume that the laptop outputs...I am not concerned about playback on the laptop...I mean once I hook it up to my system...into my amp....just like I used to with my karaoke player...then the volume coming from hoster into my amp...sound is low....not strong enough to run a show with. So....what can I do for that???? The suggestions I have been getting have been about playback just on the laptop alone...I know all the solutions for that already.

you may have the wrong wire. it could be a mono jack not a stereo jack !
you should get a USB external sound card, they are cheap and work great! |

Starfire,
Wonder if it's possible your Karaoke player may have had a pre-amp built in, and now one is needed. I don't use a laptop so I can't say for certain, but it sure sounds plausible. Anybody else have any experience along those lines that could confirm or negate? George |

i dont think the cd-g player has anything built in !
i would try the external USB first. i think there was a thread about this before ! |
