Cabling Issues

OK, I'm getting ready to get the PC hooked up to my sound system.

I have a Mackie CFX12 mixer. I have the portable PC from MTU.

I currently run my 2 players out of channels 9/10 & 11/12.

My plan was to run the PC into Channel 8 (1/4 inputs).

So, I need to run out of the sound card output (which is 1/8", I think). Do I run 2 cables out of it, or one cable into a splitter to my left/right channels on the board?

Also, what types of cable should I get? Can anyone recommend?

Cable From Sound Card To Mixer

Most likely, your Sound Card has a STEREO 1/8" Line Out.

If you are going to use your STEREO LINE IN on your Mixer, you will need an 1/8" STEREO Male split to Two 1/4" MONO Males (Red/White or some other mating colors).

Radio Shack sells this but the MONO ends are RCA. So, if you buy from Radio Shack, you will need to buy Two RCA to 1/4" Adapters, in which, you end up with more parts pieced together - the more parts the greater the possibility of something going wrong.

Hosa Technology, Inc. site:

http://www.hosatech.com/hosa/index.html

sells a nice cable that is 10ft. (length I prefer when Computer has to be located further away, such as the FLOOR) having Part Number and Description of CMP-159 3.5MM STEREO TO TWO 1/4" PHONE, 10FT.

See Specs at this site:

http://www.hosatech.com/hosa/products/cmp-153_cmp-159.html

You can search this site to find a Dealer who may either have it on hand or who may order it for you (I ordered three at once):

Hope this helps,

Norm

Like he said on the cable, but you need to ungook one of the players and run into a stereo pair (9/10 or 11/12) channels. otherwise put it into 2 mono channels, and pan 1 of the right, and 1 of them left.

By the way, are you running a laptop, or a desktop? If you have a hum, or a squeel problem in the audio, let me know. I've got the solution.
