I am having problems burning a CD, it will read the CD but locks up after you install a blank CD.
I have Microstudios version 2.517 direct x 9.0 ..
I am running windows me.
I have checked the ribbon cable and it is tight. I have checked the blinkcodes at plextor.com and they are not helpful.
I have a STEADY green light when you insert a blank CD and it just continues to stay green and doesn't blink at all.
Microstudios.. says CD burner is now ready and all the blue lights on the top go to the end..(across the top) like it is going to burn the CD but it never says ..writing track one..etc..and it just sits there.
I used to have the old Microstudios.. and I have removed the Vcache line in the system.ini file.
I have also changed by virtual memory to allow the computer to set it now.. I have disable write behind cache still checked..also auto insert is off. Before I did that.. it wouldn't even read the CDR's.. What else can I do.. because I am getting Closer..but something is still not right.

Have you tried reading, or burning other than with microstudio?
It sounds like it could be a drive problem.
