![]() I waited until I upgraded my PC to Windows XP before installing 2.506. The software appears to burn CDG's fine but has a lot of trouble with playback. Basically the graphics hang on the title image. The audio continues to play with out problems. Now to make things a bit more interesting, If you double on an area outside the player window, the audio breaks up. If you double click again on the outside, audio and graphics play back fine. However this is not consistent meaning it does not work everytime. Anyway, I thought that it might be a bug with 2.506 so I went back to the original purchased version. It is doing the exact same thing. Pretty sure it has something to do with XP. Anyone seen this before?
Hardware / Software is as follows: P4 - 2.40 Ghz 512 MB Ram 80 GB HD Soundblaster Live ATI Rage Fury Pro HP CDWriter 7200i Windows XP with all the latest drivers and software for installed hardware, as well as latest service packs and updates from MS |

Tdproduction,
We have been beta testing MicroStudio 2.511, In my opinion, this upgrade could be released within days and may solve your problems. Regards, Jon |

Tproduction,
The ATI Rage Fury Pro, doesn't support DirectX 9.0, so it will not work with the current versions of Microstudio. This could be causing problems with Playback. The other thing that could be causing this issue is the Sound Card acceleration. How to change this is located at: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=1796

Works Fine With Windows 2000
A bit more information. Installed Windows 2000 pro on same hardware. Only difference is a smaller hard drive (wanted to keep the XP config) Microstudio works great.
Hey Bryan, Thanks for the reply about the previous post. I did see that and gave it a try. No go. Probably something weird with XP. The search continues..... BTW, Any thoughts about writing this software for Linux? |

We would like to run it on Linux, but that will be a ways down the road.
As to the problem, that is odd. Is that XP Pro or Home? There are different drivers for XP or 2000, so this would have to be the issue. What I would do is go to ATI's website and upgrade to the very latest driver for your Video card, and then go to Creatives site and upgrade to the latest driver for the Sound Blaster Live also, and see if this will fix it. There is some issue still, the hardware works under 2000, so it has to be some driver under XP.

XP Pro. It does have the latest and greatest for all hardware and XP. My next step, I think, will be to downgrade to some of the earlier hardware drivers. When I bought the new PC I made sure everything was up to date before I installed any applications. Also I'm concerned that with all the installing of the 2 versions of Microstudio I own that I will run out of installs before long. If I understand the installation correctly, does it not call an MTU server on the internet to check if it is a valid copy?

![]() Seems that reinstalling the sound blaster live drivers done it. Works with 2.4 and with 2.506. Thanks for giving me the idea where to look. It is working great. Still not sure what the problem was. Same drivers just a reinstall. Anyway thanks again.
