If the words are running off the sides of the page, there are too many words on a line. You need to shorten the number of words on a line, or possibly select a smaller font. You'll develop a feel for it depending on the size and style font you like to use. For example, I prefer 26 pt.Arial 'cause it's easy to read. This size and type will accomodate 20 characters including spaces without running off the page. You get used to "eyeballing" it as you're setting up the lyrics. Occassionally if I need to use too many characters to keep from breaking the flow of the line I'll opt for a smaller font, usually 24. That's easy to change even after sweeping. Just click the change settings tab open the lyrics page and select a smaller font.

Not necessarily advising these size fonts. You may prefer smaller fonts and more words to a line. Just determine how many characters and spaces you can safely use and stay within that criteria. Saves a lot of doing over.

If you don't want blue background and white letters, you set those by clicking the change settings tab then you can set up the title, lyrics, and credits pages to suit your own tastes.

Take care,

George

I like to use visual indicators also, to help the singer.
Here's what I do for instrumentals .
I like the instrumental indicator to be at the top of the page and not stuck in the middle. To do this, after the last line preceding the instrumental insert a page break. This is done by entering to a new blank line then hold the "shift key and type ^
On the next line I use the left arrow, then type in caps INSTRUMENTAL then the right arrow. Then continue on with the lyrics.

The^ will not show in the finished production. When you sweep, sweep the word INSTRUMENTAL with the two arrows, just as if it were a lyric. Then hold back sweeping until instrumental is over and resume sweeping with the music when the lyrics pick back up. When you play it back the word INSTRUMENTAL along with the two arrows will act as a visual timer for the singer, because it will sweep as fast or as slow as the break. The left and right arrows should be treated as part of the word and not spaced. I use them to distinguish the word from lyrics.

You may prefer to develop your own method.

If you prefer to use a numerical countdown for instrumental breaks, 10 9 8 7, etc. simply type 10 followed by holding the ctrl key and typing 0160 on the numeric keypad. When you let go the ctrl key the cursor advances one space. Just repeat for as many numbers as you wish to use. When you sweep it, it sweeps as one word. You can string words together this way also in the case of a really fast Polka. Makes for easy sweeping that way. This is referred to as "em spacing" in the manual.

Regarding credits, you can set up the credits page just as you want with or with out graphics, just the same as you did the title page.

Once again, simply develop what ever method pleases you.

Take care.

George

Thank you for your kind comments. Considering the degree of computer "savvy" you've shown in the open forums however, I'd hardly begin to classify you as a "newbie"

Take care,
George
