Noticed on another thread that certain drives although detect drive shows "yes", microstudio does not work. Does this include LG CD-RW CED8120B?

Also, in trying to help a friend, we downloaded the demo (seems successful) as the microstudio screen was normal. However, when trying to play or record a cdg in the drive, the screen was black, some garbled sounds, but didn't get any error messages.

Computer has DirectX8.0, and I think the ASPI is okay.

any suggestions is appreciated. wasn't sure what the screen resolution minimum was? will try looking back at prior threads.

Yes,
Most of the LG drives will show YES for Karaoke, but really won't work. You will get the symtoms that you have described. The only brand that truly works for CD+G are the Plextor drives. These are the drives we sell, after we test them and weed out any that won't do CDG correctly.
