Static from laptop.

I have two Toshiba Satellite A100 laptops with Hoster Version 5.07 installed on both. I use one laptop (Rua) as my principal and the other (Tahi) as backup and I use the same external hard drive database of songs on both.

I also use the same small external (usb) sound card on both.

I have two seperate issues for which I am seeking help.

My first problem is that whenever I use Rua, I get an intermittent annoying very noticeble static over the external speakers but using Tahi gives clear perfect sound. I've changed sound bit rates, sound cards, mixers and hard drives with no luck.

My second problem is, despite using the same hard drive on both laptops, I am unable to access some songs on Tahi that are available on Rua. I have tried deleting the entire song folder and reloading the songs from another hard drive. I've tried rescanning the song folders but again no luck. The problems remain.
