![]() Hi
I have searched this site but cannot find my query anywhere. I just bought the KHPro and created some karaoke tracks from backing tracks a friend had. They play perfectly in KHPro. I went through the manual for hours but can't seem to export out/import into Hoster Lite so I can use them with my other karaoke tracks. I seem to have KPR file extensions in KHPro, but no music, or it saves as a CDG or a WMA....I'm now very confused with all these file extensions....and I've tried just about everything. Also, the disc ID, track ID fields etc don't seem to let me put anything titles etc in them so I obviously don't quite understand that bit. When I did manage to get a track imported, it was 17 seconds long and just playe dcrackling sounds. Am I importing as the wrong thing? Any help would be much appreciated. Sharon |

Re: Move songs created in KHPro into Hoster Lite
When your KHPro file is finished it has to be exported as either an mp3+g, wma+g, zip or .bin file.
The .kpr can only be loaded into Kpro not any other programs, this is just a working file of the one you are working on so you can quickly reload it into khpro. The types you can select to save as are determined by the format of the track you imported in the first place. So if you imported the music track as mp3 you will have the option of mp3+g or zip to export to, if your music track was imported as a .wav format it would export as a bin file. It seems in your case you would have to save as wma+g. After selecting to export, in the dialog that opens, enter the artist - title as the file name and save it. To import into Hoster use the Import Songs tab/Index song files, then select the karaoke type you exported it as in khpro which in your case would be WMAG. Come back if you still don't understand.

Re: Move songs created in KHPro into Hoster Lite
Hi
Sorry I'm not getting it! I tried exporting to WMA+G and saved it on the desktop so I could find it. It saved a KMA and a CDG on there. When I went to import into Hoster I selected ***+G and highlighted the track I wanted. Then it went all funny on me and a box keeps popping up going on about seperator characters....I haven't managed to work out what it's talking about despite hours of re clicking and re reading the manual! I don't understand what this page means and it won't let me click on. When I have managed before I don't know what I ended up selecting, but that's when it said HDD conversion or similar, but and appeared to have worked....until I tried playing the track and got crackling for about 17 seconds? I'm not sure if it's relevant, but the original tracks were on a CD and the file ext was .cda I then imported with WMP and they became WMA files on my PC. I'm sorry to be completely dumb with this but file extensions are not really understood by me yet lol! Can you help? I would understand if you want to give up on me! Sharon |

Example: MW801 - Abc - When Smokey Sings.mp3 For this example the first "MW801" is the DiscID you probably haven't got this if you created a track in khpro the " - " is the separator character, it can make a difference if there is a space before or after the character, "-" is different to " - " as in the second example there is a space before and after the "-" character. You could try selecting the first radio button on the right hand side for Title "Insert full filename" and not worry about separators, this will import the file just as a long file name and not separate artist from title but you can always use the edit feature to correct at a later date. Quote:
You seem to be having difficulty in understanding the importing into Hoster setting up the separator characters, I may be able to help if you can copy & paste the file name exactly as it appears here, to do this right click on the file name and select rename then right click again and select copy then paste that copy in your reply, I might then be able to tell you how to set your separator characters up. You may also find it helpful if you look at my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjf7fxEK5wk Quote:

Re: Move songs created in KHPro into Hoster Lite
Hi
I did have a look at your video but it confused me more at this stage and the screen is completely different to the one I have. I am using Hoster lite 4.03. When I click "import hard drive files" I get the box with tabs across the top, options being CDG, BIN, ***+G, ZIP, Audio, Video. When I select any of them other than the ***+G the file on my desktop doesn't show up. So I select ***+G and it shows only the .WMA file and not the .CDG, but I take it the program knows to import both of them together? Anyway the file name, obtained by right clicking the file from the desk top (both the CDG and the WMA are the same so I clicked the WMA one) and the track is called Feels like love The window then changes and "hide imported tracks" is selected by default so I left it that way. It shows "Feels like love.wma" in the window so I highlight it. I then get stuck. I did play with the tabs and managed to select "ignore" and get the bottom screen up. Then it showed as "undefined" title and imported. But when I tried to open/search for it I couldn't find it. Does this help you figure out what I'm doing wrong? You wanna give up now don't ya! :-) |

When the list populates the bottom part of the dialog you should see your title appear under the title heading with undefined for the Artist, you should be able to highlight the artist field and enter an artist manually if you want to or you can leave it as undefined and edit after wards in the edit dialog. Now look at the book ID root and press the next button, it may stay the same but whatever # it selects make a note of it because you can search for it from that # plus the track # Example if the number shows as 325 and this track is the only one your importing then it will be track 01 so the the book id to search for will be 32501. You can enter a brand as unknown or anything you like, when your satisfied you have entered all data tick the select box and the status field should change to Ready then press index files button and you should see the status window change from ready to imported. If because you have imported this file before it does not show up when you try to import it untick the hide indexed tracks box, it should then show. If all has gone well up to now you should be able to find the track from the Book id # that I explained above by entering it in the Book id window on the main Hoster dialog or use the drop down arrow and it should be the last number in the list, else you should be able to use the search feature and search for one or two of the words in the title like "Feels like" and it should find it. I give it a bit longer ![]() If you still cant get it to work try attaching the file to your post, to do this you will need to place the two files the wma and the cdg file in a zip folder, to do this right click on your desktop in the window that opens select "New" then select "Compressed zip folder" once you have this folder on your desk top drag and drop the 2 files into it, you should then be able to attach it to your message, I can then test this file to make sure there is no problem there.

![]() Hi Roy
Eureka! I have great news.....and not so great news......I managed to import the file into my Hoster Lite and search for it AND find it.....BUT.....When it's showing in the Hoster display it says the track is 7.15mins long, which is isn't....so I think ok let's just play it anyway....so when it starts playing it jumps down to 4.14mins long which is a bit more like it....but then the music comes in way before the words.....any ideas? It plays perfectly in KHPro but not by the time Hoster gets it's hands on it. Is it something I've done wrong. I'm happy to do some more manual reading as it seems to be a new problem....btu just checking with you in case you know the reason? Sigh......so close! :-o I will try and put the files in a zip folder in a mo as you suggested in case that helps. |

Re: Move songs created in KHPro into Hoster Lite
Eventually solved this issue by sharon sending me a copy of her file.
This file was in wma+g format with title credits added at the beginning. It was the title credits at the beginning that was throwing the song out of synce. When I converted the original wma file to mp3 then loaded that in to her saved kpr file overwriting her wma version it allowed me to save it as an mp3+g type in a zip folder. That then played in synce in Hoster. This is part of the email I sent her with copied portions of the manual: "MPORTANT NOTE: If the Title page is enabled or the Credits page is enabled, you can only export .BIN files due to the silence being added at the start or end of the audio file for these pages." To export as a bin file your original music track would have to be in .WAV format. Are you confusing wma with wav. But regardless of the above statement I find it still exports alright and plays with the title and credits if if you use the mp3 as your music track, then when finished export it as .mp3+g or zipped together as I sent you. The only other thing, if you do not see an option to export as mp3 then you probably don't have the lame- enc.dll installed. This is also printed in the manual:" NEW - Exports MP3+G Format - One you install the Lame_enc.dll you can open .MP3 files, add a Title Page and/or Credits Page, which extends the original audio file length, allows you to add the lyrics in sync, then use the File menu "Export as MP3+G" command to create your new finished Karaoke CDG file." If you need to download the Lame encoder follow these instructions: http://www.mtu.com/kb/kb/index.php?a...&id=90&relid=6 I will now close this thread as she has since told me it is working now.
