Angry Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

Well b/c of the who issue of duplicate ID's and not being able to merge with the new version of Hoster, I must revert to a previous version of hoster that had this functionality so I can rebuild the .mdb and get those duplicates. Then I can save that db and upgrade back to version 504.10 and let it rebuild the db on startup.. b/c otherwise I have lost about 4k songs b/c of the duplicate book ids.

Problem: I've uninstalled the latest version of Hoster. But then everytime I try to install 432.11 I get "Setup.exe has stopped working". i.e. it crashes and won't let me. When I click "View problem details", I see this:

Re: Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

Delete your songs.mdb, then start the earlier version of Hoster then rebuild it's database.

Re: Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

Ya I know to do that, but I think you're missing my main point. I can't revert to previous version of Hoster. Even though I've uninstalled current version, when I go to install 432.11 it crashes and won't let me install it.

Re: Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

OK I'm with you, You should be able to instal it just by using the upgrade option even though you are actually down grading.
I'm wondering if there is something wrong with the 4.32 .exe file you are trying to use. Is it one you saved before updating, if so have you any others saved to see if you get the same problem, if not can you go into your account and see if there is still a copy showing there for download ?

If you can't do any of the above, try reinstalling 5.04 first then try installing 4.32 by using the upgrade option instead of remove.

Red face Re: Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

Thanks. This is useful info. I will do it the way you suggest then and see if that works.. (using the upgrade option--and then downgrading to that previous version. the .exe that I have is an old one I saved a while back so it may be corrupt. I'll try a different version. Thanks Roy. Man I'm glad you're on here. you're always quick to answer and provide very good responses. keep up the good work.

The only thing that I can think of that might cause this is that something in your Temp Directory is messed up under Windows or you have a Bad Installation File. Please try downloading the 4.32.03 version from here http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster.htm . Try this and see if it will install. If it will not install either, then try doing this http://www.mtu.com/kb/kb/index.php?a...id=115&relid=1

This may or may not help, Please let me know.

Roy, excellent work in all I've observed! We are blessed to have you helping.

I need to let you know on this point how our Store Account downloads work. To prevent overloading the store website and making it "unavailable", downloads are available ONLY for 30 days after purchase.

The way to get setup files at any time is to go to the Hoster Upgrade Page (or any other page found easiest in the "Support" navigation button, then click the product "Upgrade" column link).

Please recommend this in the future as how to get "any" setup version.

Please also tell them (just as mykaraokedj has rightly done) to SAVE that setup file on a CDROM or USB Thumb Drive for safe keeping.

Re: Having Problems reverting to 432.11 Help

Just so both you guys know.. it was a corrupt file I had. Had tried to back up that one in particular on my ftp site but the backup didn't complete thus the file was incomplete. Thanks both for your help on this matter.

Always glad to help out where I can, keeps the old Grey matter functioning, I'll put the upgrade page in my memory bank for the future.

Seems mykaraokedj has solved his problem so I'll close this thread now.
